Wake Technical Community College, Criminal Justice Department provides hands-on training in forensics. Students learn the techniques of proper collection of evidence, the analysis of fingerprints, hair, and fibers, and the creation of computerized composite sketches. There is also instruction in criminal law, constitutional law and ethics. The Criminal Justice program also offers a CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) Training Camp in the summer to introduce students to the program. Campers learn how to process a crime scene properly and sharpen their investigative skills while experiencing firsthand the importance of working with others as a team.
